As family owned businesses, Dellta Contractors Limited and Dellta Contractors (Vic) Pty Ltd are committed to the Highest Standards in Health and Safety

Dellta Contractors take the health and safety of our employees very seriously, it is our prime consideration. With this in mind, our commitment is to operate to the highest standards in Health and Safety at all times, with a vision to continual improvement.

Dellta Contractors recognise that health, safety, and wellbeing risks are inherent to any construction project, and as such has implemented a people-focused, company-wide approach to keeping its employees safe and well. All staff from casuals through to management participate in ongoing practical and course training to continually develop and improve a sound health, safety, and wellbeing culture through its practices. This comprises activities as simple as targeted toolbox talks and safety inspections carried out regularly onsite, through to maintaining a remuneration and promotion scale leveraged strongly off employees health and safety skill and practice development.

Operating in a high-risk industry, leadership is balanced between transactional performance indicators such as internal and external audits, coupled with continual improvement in transformational culture development whereby workers are enabled to achieve safety for themselves and others.

We were very pleased and proud to win the award at the MacKays to Peka Peka Expressway Sub-Contractors forum for Health and Safety (small business). Dellta Contractors were awarded the Wingman Award by Arrow Construction on the WIAL (Wellington Airport Rydges Hotel) project, along with a commendation by Maycroft Construction on the Bupa Fergusson project. Dellta Contractors were also finalists in the 28th Annual National Safety Awards of Excellence.

Directors of Dellta Contractors provided pivotal contribution to the development of the New Zealand micro-credential in Steel Fixing implemented by Waihanga Ara Rau, the Workforce Development Council for Construction and Infrastructure in 2022. This included significant contribution to the development of safety related NZQA unit standards.

I have worked with a lot of steel fixing contractors in my time, as a carpenter and safety professional. There has always been a varied scale of maturity in their leadership and approach to safety. While working with Dellta Contractors it quickly becomes apparent that their leadership, engagement of their staff in both safety and quality is at a far higher standard than a lot of their competition. This is reflected clearly in the attitude and workmanship of their onsite team.
